I am an Accredited Lecturer for The Arts Society a have given art related presentations to a wide variety of art clubs and societies, Schools, National Trust, Rotary and Probus Clubs as well as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme. Having been a professional scientist I have a keen interest in the interface between art and science which has been the basis of contributions to various science festivals. Also I am a guide to the Fine Art collection in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow. My art works explore the interplay between colours and shapes. Some paintings feature boats with their variously shaped hulls and sail colours providing a kaleidoscopic display set against variable seas. Other paintings depict the old and quaint buildings of Scottish fishing villages, towns and cities. Often the gravitas and serenity arise from an array of complex structures interacting shapes and muted colours. Musical interests have also been the catalyst for pictures relating to the interplay of the various shapes shapes and colours that characterise musical performance either in orchestras or small groups. Although most of the paintings displayed here are in private collections, some can be purchased on a collect basis and the selection is continuously updated as new paintings become available. They can be viewed in the lower section of the display and are appropriately marked FOR SALE. They all the same size ( 24 ins x 18 ins). My contact details are provided at the foot of the web site>
